A Quick Getaway - part. 1

Hello!
Haaa, last time I told you that I will have my short trip to Singapore to see my favorite female indie singer; Ingrid Michaelson live in concert at Esplanade Concert Hall! So, I'm now back in Jakarta (facing a really dark reality, though) and ready to serve you a thorough report about my trip there.

DAY-1
So, on September 8th, 2012, I headed to Singapore and arrived in the evening. Actually, my friend; Riska (she's my junior during my senior high) told me to take the taxi to her place. But, well, since I was tight on budget and I have enough time to wander around I dared to take the MRT all the way to her place. Actually, I already prepared for this, so I check the route and took the MRT to Somerset St. Then, I asked some old ladies on how to get to my friend's place by walking. And they told me to take the taxi. I regret it so much since on the way there it's really near! (grr, damn old lady).

So, Riska's place is really nice, it's located near Orchard Rd. and Somerset Rd. After taking enough rest and  shower, she took me to dinner near her place. I forgot the name, but it's Indian cuisine (it's similar to warung pinggir jalan in Indonesia since the tables were placed on the pedestrian walk instead of inside the shop). I tried a drink called Teh Cino. And it is really recommended! It's addictive anyway!

After that, she took me to Clarke Quay to enjoy the night view there. Since it was Saturday night so the place was full of crowd. After that we headed home and took a full rest.

DAY-2
Today was my solo adventure. Well, Riska had something to do and my fellow couchsurfer was not available till evening. So, I just went around by myself. I just wandered around the Orchard-Somerset though. Surprisingly, it's Merlion's birthday this month and I took some pictures of the celebration of it in the Orchard.

Day-1

It went smooth. I was having a lot of fun, though there was an awkward moment since I have to interact while still in quarreling mode. Ah, being mature is harder than I thought. So the rest of the day went on just as smooth as baby's butt. Spending all my day attending entrepreneurship workshop, my tummy's full, got so many freebies and yes, money. Though there were a few of annoying people who keep cutting the line when we're having coffee break or lunch, and people who walk as if they're the only one that matters (which wetting my attire because the cup of tea spilled off), and et ce te ra.

The night was also amusing. Thought it would be plain boring since it's a CPA event (I don't even interested in Finance, let alone Accounting). But fortunately enough, they cover the Ethics topic, which was my favorite subject during my (active) college life. And, there were a few eye candy, yes, the dandy and preppy guys, both expatriate or Indonesian. Well, who can resists those? Clean look, Neat attire, and clean-cut. Heaven!

Then I came home. Yes, I didn't even reached home, but on my way home, the emptiness filled in. Fuck.

Guess, I have to restock my sleeping pills.

Hanbok Experience

So I went to Korean Cultural Center last Friday. They have this regular event called "Hanbok Experience" where people can experience wearing Hanbok for around 15-20 minutes. I went with my friend; Vita and we had a blast there. This event will be held every Friday, only on the third week of every month (except there's further notice).

Fortunately, there was also a photo and painting exhibition there, so we have a lot of pictures taken there!

Enjoy the flood of pictures!

There is a Light that Never Goes Out

I just found out that I love looking at and taking pictures of trees from below. I love the view of the branches along with the leaves and the beam of lights in the midst of branches.

And I have been so curious why I love that view so much that I realized that I have so many pictures of different trees, all taken from below.

I guess I just love how shady being under and still feel the warm from the ray of lights.

I also love to see the pattern. I love seeing the branches. Well, it's different for every tree, even the same species.

It's similar to human. We're all the same, yet so different. Each one was created unique. We may take different path of life. We may grow, while others wither... We may have so many leaves, while others fall.

And I think that it tries to tell us something.

That beneath the dark, you will still find a light.
